What is a brand?
Many people believe that a brand consists of only a few elements – colors, some fonts, logo, and slogan. In reality it is much more complicated than that.
The basic idea and basic concept behind a “brand” is that while a company is behind everything has and all that it produces should reflect the values ??and objectives of the company in a whole.
For example, look at the famous Apple Company. Apple as a company is a humanistic corporate culture, and strong ethics, which is characterized by volunteerism, support good causes and community involvement. These corporate values ??are evident in everything they do in their innovative products and their advertising, through their customer service. Apple is a brand that connects emotionally humanistic really with people – when people buy or use their products or services, they feel part of the brand, as a tribe. It is this emotional connection that creates their brand – not merely their products and the apple logo.
What is identity?
In most cases, the design of an identity is based on the visual devices used in a company, usually assembled into a set of guidelines. These guidelines consist of identity usually based on color palettes, fonts, layout, and so on. These guidelines are the corporate identity.
The identity or “image” of a society consists of many visual devices:
- Logo (the symbol of the entire brand identity);
- Stationery (In-Letterhead business cards, envelopes, etc.);
- Marketing materials (flyers, brochures, books, websites, etc.);
- Products and packaging (product and packaging in which they enter);
- Clothing design (clothing worn by employees);
- Signage (interior & exterior);
- Messages and actions (messages transmitted via direct or indirect modes of communication);
- Other communications services
- Any visual that represents the company
- All these things are an identity and should support the brand as a whole. The logo is the corporate identity and brand is wrapped in a distinguishable. This brand is the avatar and the symbol of the company as a whole.
What is a logo?
A logo is identification. A logo identifies a company or product through use of a flag, a symbol or signature. A logo does not sell directly or describe a business.
On the Logo is a symbol that identifies a company without explanation. To illustrate this concept, I think a logo can represent a person. What qualities, the differences that distinguish it from other individuals?
We prefer to be called by our names – rather than confused by the description of our. Similarly, a logo should not literally describe what the company, but rather, identify the business in a manner that is recognizable and memorable.
It is also important to note that it is only after a period as a logo becomes familiar. Because our brain has stored the symbol that identifies our company. The logo identifies a company or product in its simplest form.
